I go through at least four pairs of running shoes each year so I’ve tried quite a few. There’s been a lot of hype around the Adidas Evo SL as a daily running shoe that can handle some speed as well as some distance so I was curious to see if they could live up to that.
In the first several weeks of use, I’ve been impressed.
The toe box is roomy while the padded heel is cushiony. The foam is firm while also just bouncy enough to have some energy to it. As an all-around running shoe, it falls into a sweet spot.
Its upper is also great for the mid-60s to low 70s weather Southern California finds itself with currently.
While I’ve enjoyed the Adidas Boston 12 and Adios Pro 3, the tongue and upper on those shoes have been a huge weakness. The Evo SL is much better.
It’s still early, but I love what these shoes offer and how versatile they can be. They are a contender for the best running shoes of the year.
